PAT CRUZAN

I am a member of Southern Breeze, Georgia Writers Association, The Poet Tree, Writers Circle, and SPAWN. Participating in each group offers a way to network. Different writers’ groups offer help in different areas. Several of my children’s books are for elementary students. My latest children’s book, What Anna Discovers, is for fifth graders and above. Poetry books I’ve written are for grades sixth through adult. I’m the author of the following books: What Anna Discovers, Poetic Moments, The Wonder in the Woods, My Reflections, Max Does It Again, Molly’s Mischievous Dog, Tall Tales of the United States, and Sketches of Life. Some of my poems have appeared in a Kennesaw State University book and in various national and international anthologies, including the Friends of the Peachtree City Library. I’ve also had stories, articles, poems, and photographs published in magazines, newspapers, teacher publications, and church materials. In 2011 an article, “Being a Children’s Writer Is MoreThan Meets the Eye,” was in a SPAWN newsletter. In 2012, two of my poems were published in anthologies. I’ve retired as a teacher from the Fulton County Board of Education. In the elementary school setting, I taught several grades, reading, and music. Also, I’ve taught music in high school. Before teaching school, I worked in the children’s section of a library. As a speaker, I’ve presented workshops and lessons at schools, libraries, and churches. I’ve also read and signed my work at several libraries, schools, and stores.
